A screen adaptation of the classic novel by Dutch literary writer Belkampo. An eccentric millionaire decides that he wants to die and hires an agency, offering its customers an unusual service - "the death of a choice." He prefers not to know anything his life will be ended, and signs the so-called "Surprise Agreement." Busy organizing his own funeral, he accidentally meets a young woman who has signed up for the same arrangement. Now the thought of death pales before a passionate desire to live. The two lovers get in a hurry to terminate the contracts, but unfortunately this is not as easy as it seems…
