Maurice the cat has two talents: talking and conning. Travelling with talking rodents from town to town, he each time 'saves' the locals from an infestation of rats (for a good price, of course). But once they get to Droop Blinzburg, Maurice and his friends realise that this town harbours something dangerous in it. Now they have to play cat-and-mouse with the real evil and solve the main mystery of the place - to the amazement of all the bipeds living there.
