While escaping from the mental hospital, four teenagers kidnap a young nurse. A detachment of policemen led by Texas Ranger Hal Hartman, vindictive and ruthless, is launched in chase of them. One of the fugitives gets on a path full of tragedies and horrors, which will turn him into a maniac - a legend called "The Leather Face".
